Pssst. Want us to customize your theme for half the price?
Welcome to my first “Friday Freebie” where I share my own creations, and those of others!
From Once Coupled: logo concept
This was a concept piece I made for a client earlier this week. Since we went in another direction, I’m sharing it here with my favorite readers! It’s an Illustrator file and has two artboards: one with editable font and one with outlines. Since you may not have the fonts I used, the second artboard will preserve the design across computers. If you do want to get those fonts, the first artboard will pop up an error letting you know which fonts you need, and once you have them you can customize the text!

Script font you can use on your own site
If you’re looking to create an impression of elegance, you’ll be pleased to know that Google Fonts has a beautiful script font available. To use Meddon, copy the following code into the top of your style.css page. Then, replace your .entry-title font: with ‘Meddon’!
@import url(http://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Meddon);
Blurred backgrounds
I love blurred backgrounds because they’re soft, simple, and versatile. Actually, I was thinking about making all of my featured images with various blurred backgrounds, but I’m on the fence about using a single, solid color right now. Anyway, here are 13 good ones to get your collection started!
Illustrator brushes: doodled borders
Mel’s Brushes has some really great content on it, but these are one of my favorite eye-catching designs for sprucing up a project!
